Chris – Sean & Venme

When Chris was running through his first round of edits, I noticed these interesting backdrops:

Where was that? I asked. At the Crowne Plaza Hotel, he answered. He shot there upon Sean and Venme’s suggestion, and what a brilliant request it was.

I never noticed how avant garde the hotel turned out to be and the images somehow reminded me of one of the stills I came across from an old black & white film called “The Love of Zero”.

Made in 1927, it was one of the films that contributed to the push of modernism in the era to come. Avant-garde describes experimenting beyond commercial mainstreams, referring in majority to culture, politics and artists, many emerging around the mid 1900s.
